Notes: The original description of the female of this species as Scopula martinalis (Walker, 1859) is not a good match to the images displayed. However, the description of Botys crassicornis Walker, [1866] is a good match. Hampson (1896) mentions numerous forms of this species, with the extent of the central pale yellow band being variable, and sometimes reduced to just spots. Lepindex and GlobizPyraloidea list crassicornis as a junior synonym of martinalis, and we continue to follow this treatment.
