Photo Gallery and Species Biology

Both Moths of Borneo and the Chinese Comibaena paper do not list India in their distributions for C. attenuata. Similar species in the group are C. quadrinotata, C. fuscidorsataC. cassidara and C. biplaga. None of these has a large a tornal patch on FW. Also, the Chinese paper states that the tornal patch may or may not be connected with spot beyond.

Similar species: Comibaena biplaga Walker, 1861
Diagnosis: This species is quite close to Comibaena attenuata in wing pattern, having a similar large kidney-shaped apical patch on the hindwing. The main difference is that the tornal patch on the forewing terminates under CuA1, but extends beyond CuA1 in Comibaena attenuata. The terminal extension of the male hind tibia is longer than the first tarsus.
