Numerous very similar species are known from India. Underside markings support identification.

Gnophos albidior (Hampson, 1895). India: "Nagas". 
Gnophos albistellaria (Warren, 1893), India: Meghalaya (Khasi Hills). 
Gnophos orphninaria Hampson, 1902. India: Kashmir. 
Gnophos rufitinctaria Hampson, 1902.India: Kashmir.  
Gnophos tephrosiaria Moore, 1888. India: West Bengal (Darjeeling).
