As per exchanges with Terry Whitaker, it is likely that the Pachynoa species in the north-east India, are not Pachynoa xanthochyta (Turner, 1933) (TL: Australia) or Pachynoa spilosomoides (Moore, 1886) (TK: Sri Lanka), but a undescribed species, loosely assigned to the Pachynoa spilosomoides complex. South Indian species are probably Pachynoa spilosomoides (Moore, 1886).
